Liberation Theology is a framework and movement grounded in the social gospels that states that true followers must work toward a just society, bring about social and political change and align themselves with the working class and marginalized. As our communities, world and our own faith movement wrestles with how do we truly side with love. How do our values and highest ideals show up in the streets, in our homes and in our churches? How do we truly embody the transformative offerings and promise of all our faith offers. Let’s explore together how we live into a radical and audacious UU Liberation Theology.

Elandria Williams joined TVUUC with their family in 1987 and officially joined the church in 1997 with the church youth group during the graduation service.  Elandria Williams is currently co-moderator of the Unitarian Universalist Association. They have spent over 20 years since they were 16 serving on various UU committees and worked at the UUA in the offices for Identity Based Ministries, Youth and Young Adults as either an employee or consultant from 2003-2016. Elandria also served as the GA Coordinator for DRUUMM (Diverse Revolutionary UU Multicultural Ministries: A People of Color UU Organization) and was a founding member of Black Lives of UU. They were also blessed to receive the Donna DiScullo Award for Young Adult and Campus Ministry and the Mel Hoover Award for Distinguished Service to UU People of Color.
