Mission of the East Tennessee Cluster

We affirm and strengthen our East Tennessee congregations by encouraging and advancing greater cooperation among us and making Unitarian Universalism conspicuous and well regarded in our region.

The Cluster serves the vision of liberal religion by serving UU ministers and staff, leadership, congregants and the public.

The Cluster serves the public by creating visibility through advertising, good works and cultural activities, holding up the promise of liberal religion in the region.
The Cluster serves our members who receive validation in knowing they are not geographically isolated by their religious faith.
The Cluster serves leaders who are supported by other leaders in similar positions in neighboring UU churches.
The Cluster serves staff by allowing them to draw on multiple congregations for talents in music, worship, social justice and programs.

We are the Uncommon Denomination, promoting freedom, dignity and respect among people, seeking spiritual growth while we act for social justice, and continuing a centuries-old tradition of religious liberalism. We invite you to visit our churches!

DIRECTIONS:
Entering Oak Ridge from Pellissippi Parkway--Solway (Rte.62 W) guides Oak Ridge traffic onto Illinois Avenue in Oak Ridge. Illinois Avenue meets the Oak Ridge Turnpike intersection at Traffic Light Number 12. Turn Right onto Oak Ridge Turnpike. The Oak Ridge UU Church is located on Oak Ridge Turnpike at the corner of the next intersection, Robertsville Road, (Traffic Light Number 11). With no entrance from the Turnpike, take a Left turn onto Robertsville Road and enter the first parking lot on the left.

Entering Oak Ridge from Clinton (Rte. 61 to 95S), the 95S becomes Oak Ridge Turnpike in Oak Ridge. Each Traffic Light has a number by the Street Name and begins with Florida as Number 1. Drive down to Traffic Light #11, Robertsville Road and turn Right onto Robertsville Road. Enter the first parking lot from the corner on the left into Oak Ridge UU Church.

DIRECTIONS:
Take I-40 to exit 373, Campbell Station Road. Go south on Campbell Station to the first traffic light and turn right onto Grigsby Chapel Road. Go 1/3 mile and Westside will be on your right, at the intersection with Fretz Road.

DIRECTIONS:
From downtown Knoxville, follow Cumberland Avenue to Kingston Pike. Past the intersection with Concord Drive, TVUUC is about 300 yards on the right, just past Second Presbyterian Church.

From I-40, take exit for the Alcoa Highway (TN-115 S/US-129 S). Then take the exit to Kingston Pike (US-11 S/US-70 W), and turn right. TVUUC will be on the right, 300 yards beyond the intersection of Kingston Pike with Concord Drive.

From Knoxville:
Take ALCOA HWY (129) SOUTH. Take the LEFT FORK after the airport (Hwy 35/Hall Rd. into Alcoa). Drive about 2.5 miles, then take a LEFT onto HIGH ST. (Hwy 411). Drive 0.9 miles, then turn LEFT onto EVERETT HIGH RD. Drive 0.3 miles, then turn RIGHT onto KITTRELL AVE. Turn LEFT onto BURCHFIELD ST. The Senior Center is ahead on the right. Handicap parking and entrance is around the left side of the building.
