The Reverend Joseph Smith of New Friendship Church in Lonsdale once asked the question, “Can fresh water come from old wells?” This Sunday we will have our annual water communion service. Everyone is invited to bring water from some special place where you spent time over the summer. The water could be from your vacation or staycation; a distant ocean or your garden’s water hose; a whitewater river or the sink in your hospital room. We will place this water in a common bowl to remind us of how our communal life is enriched by our individual journeys. We will also celebrate the 25th anniversary of Chris’s ministry and the 10th anniversary of Catherine’s service to the church.
