Researchers tell us that bats are highly social animals who tend to argue a lot with each other. In many churches this is Saint Francis Sunday so we will spend time reflecting on some common traits shared by all creatures of the earth and sky – the two-legged, the four-legged, the feathered and finned, those with sight and those with radar.  We will spend special attention on the role of conflict in social animals and how it relates to the progressive religious tradition.
