Mother Teresa, Mother Jones – In-Person and Virtual Worship

Mother Teresa was very different from Mother Jones (and vice versa) and yet both had qualities that we tend to associate with “mothering.” In an age of non-binary thinking, we can see both as an invitation to embrace the word “mother” as a verb and not a noun. On this Mother’s Day we will contemplate the social justice implications of the word “mother” and reflect on how we can put that word into action regardless of our gender identity.
