Jesus said, “Let the dead bury the dead” which seems at odds with his own Jewish heritage. Rabbinic tradition teaches us that burying the dead is our last mitzvah, our final tangible good deed for them. This Sunday’s service will include elements from All Souls, All Saints, Samhain, the Day of the Dead and the Kaddish prayer tradition. Everyone is invited to bring a picture of someone who is no longer living (or a picture of someone you consider to be a saint) to place on our altar. We will remember those who continue to influence us even after they are gone.

Per the CDC, Knox County’s risk level has returned to LOW. No COVID-related restrictions are in place, though masks and vaccination are encouraged.
