Environmental Concerns Committee
Members of this committee work to create awareness and understanding of environmental issues within the church and in the community. Current initiatives include the Green Church-Green Jobs initiative, an annual Tree Planting Project following mountaintop removal, recycling projects and education, and enhancement of Third Creek Greenway from Concord St. to Sutherland Ave. through regular litter pick-up and native plantings, and continual monitoring of and education around the solar array on our roof.

Sacred Grounds Program
The goal of this program is to create, offer and support inter-generational activities and events that take place outside on the church grounds with the purpose of helping people have hands-on experiences where the natural world intertwines with spiritual growth. We want to build recognition of the grounds as our outdoor sanctuary and an integral part of TVUUC’s certification as a Green Sanctuary. Outdoor activities may include picnics, services, explorations, yard games, campouts, art projects, and more.
