Intentionally Difficult: The Spirituality of Ella Baker In-Person and Virtual Worship

There is a time to be easy going, go with the flow, pliant and yielding. There is also a time to be intentionally difficult. In this service we will reflect on the life and work of Ella Baker who worked for civil rights challenging not only the racism of society but the patriarchy of the movement leaders. We will give special attention to the way she offers an example of prophetic leadership that we can follow today. Ella’s Song – Sweet Honey in the rock – We who believe cannot rest.
