Adult RE: Introduction to Beloved Community – Welcoming as a Spiritual Practice

October 13, 12:30-2:30pm in Lizzie Crozier French

Please RSVP at https://tinyurl.com/tvuucwelcoming

Please join us for a deep exploration of welcome as a core UU practice and value, on Sunday, October 13th from 12:30-2:30pm.  We’ll provide pizza and snacks or you’re welcome to bring a lunch to eat with us as we share a video session from the Transforming Hearts Collective that will ground us in a “Beloved Community” approach to welcome, and invite us to think differently about what the purpose of our spiritual community is and what it means to truly practice welcome, because welcoming isn’t something we are, it’s something we do – welcome is a spiritual practice.  We’ll process the session in conversation as we reflect on our personal experiences of welcome versus unwelcome and inclusion versus exclusion, and envision what practicing Beloved Community in our TVUUC community looks like.  We strongly encourage TVUUC leaders, members and friends to join us.  We are offering this as a standalone session, though it was developed as the first session in the larger “Transgender Inclusion in Congregations” program; be on the lookout for future sessions exploring more of the program’s content!
