Some churches try to fit volunteers into pre-existing slots like parts to a machine. Other churches look for the divine seed in each person, nurture it, help it grow, like flowers in a garden. In truth most congregations do a little bit of both. This Sunday we will have a Child Dedication ceremony as we explore how TVUUC can help us all bloom where we are planted. We will also have flower communion. Everyone is invited to bring a flower to church to give away and take a flower that someone else has given, a reminder of how our individual lives are enriched by our common life and shared gifts.
