Henry David Thoreau once expressed his appreciation for a friend because the two were able to “disagree satisfactorily.” By this Sunday we will likely know the results of a national election. There will be winners and losers, celebrations and protests, joy and grief. Is there any hope that we might find a way to disagree satisfactorily?

Per the CDC, Knox County’s risk level has returned to LOW. No COVID-related restrictions are in place, though masks and vaccination are encouraged.
