James Baldwin wrote, “I conceive of God, in fact, as a means of liberation not a means to control others.” In this service we will look at the Liberation Theology movement that emerged from Latin America in the 1960’s and influenced new movements of thought; Black Liberation Theology, Native American Liberation Theology, Qweer Liberation Theology, Feminist and Womanist Theologies and more. What does it mean to think of God as means of liberation rather than control?
