Making a Minister – From Start to Stole – In-Person and Virtual Worship

Do you know what it takes to become a Unitarian Universalist minister? Have you ever wondered how, or if, the ministry formation process aligns with our UU values? Knoxville native Helen “HP” Rivers has been in the process for the last several years, and is now completing their ministerial internship as a community-based UU minister in Knoxville. Join us to learn more about their experience and about transformative community-based ministries on the front lines of Unitarian Universalism today.

Helen is a Knoxville native with over 15 years of experience working with children, youth, and young adults. They are a graduate of Starr King School for the Ministry, where they studied religious leadership for social change with a focus in religious education and trauma-informed ministry. They are the author of “Something Resembling God,” owner of Blessed Bee by HP, an online Unitarian Universalist gift shop, and proud mom of one human kiddo, Henry, two cats, Rumi and Danny Danger, and one menace of a dog named Luna. Helen is a proud member of the Liberal Religious Educators’ Association (LREDA), the Unitarian Universalist Ministers’ Association (UUMA), and the Unitarian Universalist Society for Community Ministries (UUSCM).
