In the Bible there is the story of the wedding in Cana where Jesus turns the water into wine. In the 19th century Unitarians declared that miracle stories are an inadequate basis for faith, preferring to place emphasis on the use of reason, rationality and natural law. However, sometimes an ancient miracle story can help us reflect on our contemporary needs for spiritual transformation in our time. Sometimes what we need is not a wedding invite but an invitation to transformation.
