July 1, 2023 — TVUUC’s 7-member Endowment Fund Committee (EFC) has elected officers and divvied up committee tasks for the fiscal year beginning July 1.

The EFC tapped Maureen McBride to serve as chair, succeeding David Massey, and also reelected Stephanie Seay as secretary and Robby McMurry as treasurer.

Major committee tasks and the EFC members primarily in charge of those tasks for the coming year include: 1) committee records, Maureen; 2) communications, David; 3) donor recognition, Joy Fels; 4) fundraising, Taylor Thomas; 5) distributions for funded projects and programs, Grier Novinger; and 6) investment policy review, Joy and Maureen.

At the Congregational meeting last month, Taylor was elected to his first 3-year term on the EFC, and David was elected to a second 3-year term. The committee also presented its annual report to the Congregation. Any member of the Congregation can obtain copies of the report and the accompanying financial statements by emailing EndowTVUUC AT gmail.com.

Meanwhile, TVUUC member Nick Potter is conducting a two-year review of the EFC’s records as required by the Endowment Fund Charter. This review covers the period from July 1, 2021, through June 30, 2023. Once concluded, Nick’s report will be provided to the EFC, the Finance Committee, the Board, and any member who requests a copy.

The EFC usually meets, often via Zoom, at 5:30 p.m. on the second Monday of each month, although it will not meet in July. Any TVUUC member who wishes to attend a meeting should contact the committee at the email address above.
